Are these options worth the additional money you pay on your Florida car insurance premiums?

Should you pay the extra money? Before you can answer yes or no, a bit of research is in order. Who wants to pay for extras if they aren’t needed?
First, check out your credit card agreements–chances are you are covered for towing or other roadside assistance. Do you carry AAA? Your AAA plan also probably includes towing, roadside assistance and other perks. Don’t add any of these services to your Florida car insurance policy if you have them from another company.

The most important thing when making a decision on your car insurance policy options is to know the limits of your existing coverage for towing and roadside assistance. Does the insurance policy offer better terms?

You may wish to cancel the coverage you have on a credit card or AAA if the car insurance policy offers you a better deal. The only way to know is to read the fine print on both the service and your insurance policy. Bottom line, don’t pay twice for the same service.

It’s very important to know the exact wording of your Florida car insurance policy. Never assume you know who is and who is not covered by your auto insurance policy. It’s sometimes a simple matter of knowing what your Florida insurance policy defines as an insured driver under the rules of your insurance.

Some policies are called “permissive use policies” and in cases like these your car insurance covers anyone who drives the vehicle. But other auto insurance Florida policies have tighter restrictions. Those who live with you and share your home may be covered by your car insurance while others are not.

Did you know some Florida insurance policies with permissive use clauses may cost more depending on the driving records of those you live with?

You may feel the need to sign a waiver or deny Florida car insurance coverage to those who cause your rates to increase. Ask your Florida insurance agent for more information on such waivers.
